Hi, I’m Erik Sekol, and it’s time for a small confession. This site isn’t really about dinosaurs. It’s a testing ground for a PHP plugin I built, and dinosaurs just happened to be the content I reached for.
A few months ago, I started building a small plugin for WordPress. I needed a real site to run it on, not just a blank install full of dummy text. Dummy text doesn’t show how a plugin behaves with real posts, real images, and real traffic.
So I picked a topic I actually like, and dinosaurs won. They’re easy to write about, mildly interesting, and nobody gets mad if I compare a Stegosaurus to a rock star. That made them perfect test content.
Every post here helps me check something under the hood. Does the plugin handle long posts the same way it handles short ones? Does it break on strange formatting? Does it slow the page down? Dinosaurs are just along for the ride while I find out.
I’ll admit the plugin comes first, and the writing comes second. That’s the honest version of this site. If the plugin works well, you probably won’t notice it at all. You’ll just see posts that load fast and look normal, dinosaurs included.
So consider this the real mission statement. I build software, and this site is where I test it. Dinosaurs give me a reason to keep posting, and a reason to keep testing. Everybody wins, especially me.
